The Kew Garden’s 50p was designed to mark the 250th anniversary of the gardens in 2009 and only 210,000 coins were put into general circulation in the UK. The coin itself is in high demand from collectors, and it can sell for over £100 online. The most valuable is the Northern Ireland 2002 Commonwealth Games coin, deemed the rarest of all the 37 £2 coins currently in circulation.
